Ravi Sharma, MAusIMM (CP), SME (RM), Managing Director and Principal Consultant
Ravi Sharma is a geologist and an international expert in mineral resource evaluation and mining. In his successful career spanning more than 23 years, he has held several senior positions such as Chief Geologist - Barrick Gold Mines in Tanzania, Mines Manager and Chief Geologist - Vedanta’s Gold Mines in Armenia, and Head of Mineral Resources Estimation - ACC Ltd, India.
In 2011, Bedrock Mineral Resource (BMRC) was established by Ravi as an independent consultancy firm based in Dubai. In addition to his profile as Managing Director - BMRC, over the years Ravi’s professional portfolio has included his responsibilities as Consulting Manager Resource with European Uranium Resources Ltd, Canada; as Associate Principal Consultant with SRK, USA; as Principal Resource Consultant with Alara Resources Ltd., Australia and as Advisor Geology with Essar Minerals, India.
Recently, Ravi has also taken up responsibility as CEO of Minvest LLC, Oman. He is a founder member aspiring to develop and promote the Mineral and Mining Industry in the Sultanate of Oman.
During his eventful career in the global mineral resource and mining Industry, Ravi has presented and published several technical papers on mineral resource estimation, QA/QC and exploration data management. His credentials include Registered Membership of SME in United States, and Chartered Professional membership of AusIMM. He is a Qualified and Competent person under JORC - Australia, Canadian National Instrument 43-101 and various regulatory authorities worldwide for Mineral Resource Estimate sign-off. These qualifications have taken Ravi to almost every corner of the world. He has travelled to Canada, USA, Australia, UK, Northern Ireland, and several countries in Europe, South America, Africa, Asia and Middle East for geological and resource evaluation assignments. He has considerable experience in multi commodities like Copper, Zinc, Gold, Uranium, Iron ore, Limestone and other industrial minerals.
Dr Hayat Qidwai, Chairman and Principal Consultant - Geology
Dr. Hayat is a geologist with over forty years of experience in the mineral exploration industry. He served for 31 years as the Geological Expert at the Directorate General of Minerals, Ministry of Petroleum & Minerals and Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Sultanate of Oman. His expertise includes professional planning and execution of geological mapping on various scales, and survey and exploration of base metals, Precious Group Elements (PGE), industrial rocks, minerals and radioactive minerals.
Dr. Hayat A. Qidwai began his career at the Indian Atomic Minerals Division of The Dept. of Atomic Energy. He has taught geology at the Aligarh M. University, India and at the University of Utah, USA as well.
Dr. Hayat’s projects have taken him all over India, Oman, USA and the Philippines.
He is a member of the Geological Society of America, Society of Economic Geologists (USA), Society of Mining Engineers of AIME (USA) and American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He is also a life member of the Indian Association of Sedimentologists. He has authored a book on Industrial Rocks and Minerals in the Sultanate of Oman. Dr. Hayat has also reviewed the book on Economic Mineral Deposits by Jensen and Bateman while he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the USA. He has published 20 research papers and presented his work at 10 international symposiums. He has completed his PhD. in Geology and also holds a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the University of Utah, USA.
Recently, Dr. Hayat has taken up responsibility as the Chairman of Minvest LLC, Oman, a company primarily involved in mining. He is a founder member aspiring to develop and promote the Mineral and Mining Industry in the Sultanate of Oman.
Michael Mracek, Corporate Consultant - Mining
Michael Mracek is a mining engineer with over forty years of experience in the mining industry. He is a seasoned professional and has been involved in all aspects of the industry from conceptual studies and feasibilities to design, construction, and operations. He has worked in Canada, West Africa, East Africa, and the former Soviet Union. Michael is a proven leader with decades of experience working in top management at major mining companies.
His high profile experience includes General Manager – Barrick Gold, COO - Tournigan Energy, Vice President - Wasa Gold Mines, COO - Vedanta ‘s Sterlite Gold, Dy Managing Director - Ashanti Goldfields Limited, General Manger - Royal Oak Mines Inc, Inco Metals (now Vale) and Dickenson Mines (now Goldcrop), Amok Cluff Mining (now Areva). He is an Associate Principal Consultant with SRK Consulting, Vancouver, Canada. His dynamic career includes the supervision of various projects from a successful feasibility study to underground and open pit mine development.
He is a Competent Person in mining under JORC/NI 43-101. Registered as a professional engineer in Ontario, Canada, Michael has a Bachelor of Science, Mining Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada (1970).
Michael is a team player and an experienced facilitator who can communicate with governments, investors, communities, and unions. His executive skills have successfully raised company profiles in negotiations regarding mine permitting, closure, and reclamation.
V. D. Manjrekar, Corporate Consultant – Coal
Mr. Manjrekar is a geologist with over fifty years of experience in the coal industry. A world class expert in due diligence of mineral deposits, Coking coal utilisation, coal washeries and asset evaluation of mines/mineral deposits and prospects, he has also worked on diamond, Oil and Natural gas, copper, limestone, and iron ore projects. He has been a Recognised Qualified Person (RQP) for Coal (Ministry of Coal, Govt. of India) and for Non Coal (Ministry of Mines & Metals, Govt. of India), and a Member of the Screening Committee for allocation of Coal Blocks for Captive Coal Mines.
Mr. Manjrekar has been a consultant to a number of large corporate entities like Reliance Industries, Tata Steel, Essel Mining, Tata Power, INDAL, Usha Martin etc. Presently, he is an advisor to the World Institute of Sustainable Energy. He is part of several government committees and is the recipient of many awards and recognition. He has been awarded Gold and Silver Medals by the Mining, Metallurgical & Geological Institute of India. Besides this, Mr. Manjrekar has also received the Indira Gandhi Rashtra Basha Puraskar and the Gondwana Puraskar.
Over 25 professional papers covering coal, Iron ore, Coking Propensities, Hydrology, Engineering Geology etc. have been written by Mr. Manjrekar. Mr. Manjrekar’s work has taken him all over India as well as the rest of the world. He has worked in Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Australia, Iran, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Colombia, and South Africa.
Dr. S.D Pimprikar, Principal Consultant - Geology
Dr. Pimprikar comes with vast experience specifically in gold and diamond. In his successful career spanning more than 32 years, he has held senior positions such as Director, Geological Survey of India and Sr Advisor- Essar Minerals, India. He has diversified experience in mineral exploration, exploration management, and geological and economic evaluations for a variety of commodities
He has carried out special thematic mapping, geological investigation and seismic tectonic studies and managed multi-million dollar exploration programs and conducted numerous due diligence studies. Dr Pimpirkar has published more the 25 papers in scientific journals and proceeding pertaining to the field of earth sciences.
He was awarded the National Mineral award in the year 2000 by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India for his exceptional services in the field of Environmental Geology. He is also a fellow member of the Geological Society of India and a member of SAAEG.
Craig Raynes, Associate Principal Geophysicist
Craig Raynes is a geophysicist with over 25 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry, ranging from green-fields exploration through feasibility studies and successfully incorporating geophysics in all stages of the exploration process. Over the course of his career, Craig has worked in Australia, North and Central America, Eastern Europe, Africa and South Asia exploring for the full spectrum of commodities ranging from diamonds, gold, iron ore, base metals and potash. The early formative years of Craig’s career were spent at the Rio Tinto group.
In 2001, Craig established a geophysical consultancy, IndiGEO Consultants Pvt Limited, at Bangalore, India. The consultancy provides exploration services to the mineral exploration industry in South Asia and their services include geophysical field surveys, geophysical data processing and interpretation, satellite image processing and GIS support, specific to exploration projects.
Dr. Piyush Pandey, Associate Principal Consultant - Customized GIS
Dr. Pandey has over 20 years of experience in offshore software development and engineering services for the oil industry. He is globally recognized in providing the energy industry with innovation and technology leadership in designing, developing and deploying innovative engineering solutions that transform reliable operations data into better and timely field management decisions. He has vast energy and utility industry experience in pioneering companies such as SAIC, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Baker, BP, PDO, Total, Shell, etc. He earned his PhD in computational Fluid dynamics with Masters (ME) in Environmental Engineering, Masters in Business Admiration (MBA) and Graduation (BE) in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, India. Dr. Pandey,is also the co-founder and CEO of EICE International Inc.
Jozef Cisovsky, Sr. Consultant - QAQC & Resource Geology
Jozef is a geologist with considerable experience in all areas of exploration. His portfolio includes work on multiple aspects of prefeasibility studies focusing in particular on resource modeling, data evaluation, data verification and data computing. His responsibilities have included implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) including but not limited to, collar survey, downhole survey, logging, sampling, Gamma logging, Gamma QAQC, QAQC program for analytical and preparation lab, and determining primary assaying method. He has also been responsible for drill hole planning and optimizing drill plans.
